Ethan Farmer, best known for his bassist talents with R&B-soul legend Lionel Richie, suffered an unfortunate attack that sources say was self-inflicted after ingesting marijuana-infused brownies or cookies, TMZ reports. 

According to the site, a caller dialed 911 Tuesday night (May 29) to report Farmer as a stabbing victim. When paramedics arrived at his San Fernando Valley apartment, he was found bleeding and was rushed to the hospital. TMZ further reports that sources revealed he had consumed weed edibles with friends while in his home before violently stabbing himself in multiple places around his body.

TMZ further reported that since Friday (June 2) the 42-year-old instrumentalist has been hospitalized, but his condition is currently unknown. Fortunately, the site adds, he revealed that he was recovering but shared no further information.
