Columbus Short Ordered to Stand Trial for Bar Fight

Ex-Scandal star sucker punched a man last March.

Columbus Short has been ordered to stand trial for allegedly assaulting a man at a Los Angeles bar this past March. The former Scandal actor was charged with felony battery after a witness testified that he sucker punched Fenton Hyche III after Hyche allegedly insulted Short's then-wife Tanee McCall Short.
According to Page Six, the Los Angeles Superior Court has ruled that prosecutors have shown sufficient evidence to go to trial, but expressed doubts about the credibility of some of the testimony from the man Short attacked.

Hyche reportedly suffered a concussion and fractured eye socket after arguing with Short at a family gathering at the bar. Short claims Hyche threw money at his wife, which sparked the confrontation.
Short is scheduled to return to court for arraignment on January 6. Though he has been ordered to stay in California until the trial, a judge has granted Short permission to fly to Louisiana at the end of the month for an acting gig.
Hopefully Short will resolve to stay out of trouble in the new year.
