Exclusive Interview: BET News Talks Jobs And Economy With President Obama

The one-on-one interview with President Obama focuses on the impact of joblessness and the economy on African-Americans and premieres on BET Networks Monday, Sept. 26, at 7:30 p.m. EST, and on Centric at 8:00 p.m. EST.

In his first interview with BET News since the economic crisis, President Barack Obama will address issues weighing heavily on the minds of African-Americans. BET News travels to the White House to get the President’s take on Black unemployment, the economy, and The American Jobs Act.

Emmy-Award winning journalist and former KTLA anchor Emmett Miller will engage the president in discussions about the increase of unemployment among African-Americans since taking office, the current economic crisis, the political landscape around the 2012 presidential election and a personal account of his biggest challenges and achievements as the leader of the free world.

“We are thrilled to be the platform where the President will exclusively address our community,” said Loretha Jones, President of Original Programming at BET Networks.  “This conversation is particularly important given the impact the economic environment is having on African-Americans.”

BET also gives viewers the chance to weigh in on issues affecting their communities. Do you have a question for President Obama? Submit them here. BET will pick one viewer-submitted question to be read on-air.
