Viola Davis Rocks A Glossy Latex Look On The Cover of ELLE Brasil—See The Fab Photo!

See the magazine photo that's breaking the internet!

Black celebrities are continuing to grace of the covers of magazines. We saw how Black girl magic took over in 2019 and 2020, well, in 2021 these publishers are keeping the same energy.

According to Fashionista, diversity was up in 2018 17% from 2017 — a record-breaking jump since the industry site began keeping track five years ago. Fashionista counted the domestic newsstand editions of nine print magazines and found that in total, 62 out of the 128 covers counted starred Black or brown women (including those who identify as mixed race and of Latin or Hispanic descent). Talk about sprinkling our magic!

Of course much of this increase is due to the ceiling-shattering number of Black women who covered the highly anticipated September issues: 54.5% of September’s covers starred people of color, a 32.3% increase from the year before.

Having Black women on these covers isn't only special, but it’s monumental in 2021. So, this is just a reminder that Black entertainers shouldn’t go unrecognized.

Take a look at all the magic below:
