Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Coogler Are Teaming Up for Another Oscar Buzzworthy Project
The Oscar-winning team is getting back together.
Michael B. Jordan and director Ryan Coogler are teaming up again for an epic new project, one that has Academy Awards written all over it. The duo — who have already worked together on the award-winning projects Fruitvale Station and Creed and are currently making superhero history with Black Panther — have lined up their next collaboration, a drama called Wrong Answer.
The film centers around a real-life education scandal. According to Variety, the film is about the "2006 standardized test cheating scandal at Atlanta public schools. Jordan will portray teacher Damany Lewis, who joined the effort in order to prevent his school from shutting down under provisions of the No Child Left Behind law. Eleven teachers were indicted on racketeering allegations."
As if Coogler and Jordan aren't enough awards bait for this project, consider who is producing: Dede Gardner and Brad Pitt, whose company Plan B is behind 12 Years a Slave and Moonlight. What's more, best-selling author and journalist Ta-Nehisi Coates is penning the script.
Sounds like everyone involved should be working on acceptance speeches, as well as a script.
