Candace Owens Defends Kanye West Amid North West Social Media Usage

“Kim is wrong on this one,” the conservative commentator wrote in a tweet.

Candace Owens is supporting Kanye West amid the back and forth he’s having with ex Kim Kardashian about his children’s access to social media.

Last week, Ye headed to his Instagram and posted a screenshot of his 8-year-old daughter North, from one of her TikTok videos. The DONDA artist has been making public complaints that his daughter is posting content on the social media platform against his will although Kardashian claims that she is being supervised.

Kardashian first issued a statement responding to the rappers comments.

“Kanye’s constant need for attacking me in interviews and on social media is actually more hurtful than any TikTok North might create,” Kardashian said in the statement on Friday (Feb. 4), according to Page Six. “As the parent who is the main provider and caregiver for our children, I am doing my best to protect our daughter while also allowing her to express her creativity in the medium that she wishes with adult supervision — because it brings her happiness.”

Owens who later jumped in the conversation on her Twitter backed West.

“Kim is wrong on this one,” the conservative commentator wrote in a tweet. “The psychological effects of social media on young girls is real and documented. It’s actually Kanye that is trying to protect his daughter in this regard and Kim is spinning this as ‘obsession’ and ‘control’. There are other creative outlets for kids.”

Owens also said that,  “There is no 8 year old in the world that needs social media. Go color.”

Pleased by Owens’ response, West headed back to his IG to thank Owens for her support

“THANK YOU CANDACE FOR BEING THE ONLY NOTEWORTHY PERSON TO SPEAK ON THIS ISSUE THERE’S A LOT OF CELEBRITIES SCARED TO SAY SOMETHING IN PUBLIC BUT THEY’LL TEXT ME IN PRIVATE AND SAY THEIR ON MY SIDE,” he captioned in his now-deleted post.

Ye has since deleted all of his public posting about the current drama between himself and Kardashian and their kids, Buzzfeed News notes.
