Columbus Short Ordered to Move Out of Family Home
One week after Columbus Short was given a restraining order to stay away from his estranged wife, Tanee McCall-Short, the actor has been ordered by a judge to immediately move out of the couple's Los Angeles home.
According to TMZ, the Scandal actor — who allegedly threatened to kill his wife and then himself after a heated argument — tried to protest the order by petitioning for permission to move back into the home he once shared with his ex, but his motion was denied. A judge will allow him to temporarily return to the home next Monday for two hours to collect his belongings. However, his attorney must be present. As for the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Tanee is petitioning for sole custody.
Since the filing, Short issued a statement regarding the allegations being brought against him.
"As you all know, lately my personal life has been subjected to a lot of press. As much as I would like to provide my side of events, my counsel has instructed me that a Court of law is the only and proper venue to deal with such matters," the statement reads. "Accordingly, I must refrain from making any comments even though that is very difficult for me under the circumstances. Thank you to my fans for your continued support during this difficult time."
This latest incident is at least the third that has brought the volatile couple into court. McCall-Short even filed for divorce last fall before calling it off. Still, it looks like things between the couple are over for good this time.
