Tyson Beckford’s model love interest Shanina Shaik told Global Grind he’s "in the dog house" after earlier comments he made this week that suggested he had a large hand in kick-starting her career.
When Beckford did an interview with the U.K.’s Evening Standard, he could’ve definitely used a muzzle, even if there were any truth to his claims. Here’s what he had to say about the lady in his life: “When I found her she was a regular girl, I helped place her with the right people, get her teeth cleaned, her body toned up.… Everything changed and now everyone wants a piece of her. I hear people say, ‘You can do better than Tyson.’ I’m like, ‘Really? Really?! I created her!’?"
It was only a matter of time before Shaik responded to the arrogant declaration made by her man. The 21-year-old, who walked the stage in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, told Frockwriter that actually, Beckford didn’t have much to do with her success at all. “Tyson and I really keep our work separate and every now and then we’ll go to events together…sometimes I say, ‘You’ve contributed to it.’ But everything that I do with my work is separate. And also I never asked him for any help on anything. He just supports me and that’s all I want.”
She added to Global Grind that she didn’t take her man’s comments seriously and even joked, “He did not make me. My mother made me.…”
