Jackie Christie and her grown daughter, Ta'Kari Lee, don't have the best relationship.
Their struggles were hinted at on Jackie's show Basketball Wives, and then put into full light when Ta'Kari had to start a crowdfunding campaign to raise money for her son's emergency medical expenses rather than ask her own mother for help. 
Now, Ta'Kari has confirmed one of the ugliest rumors about her relationship with her mother — where she believes their deep-rooted resentment actually comes from.

In a social media Q&A, a fan asked Ta'Kari if the rumors that Christie shunned her because she's dark-skinned are true. "Did your mom really say mean things being dark skin?" the fan asked. "I saw your sister [Chantel] say that she did on basketball wives."
Ta'Kari was quick to respond: "Chantel has not lied about anything."
