After a five-year hiatus, the Billboard Music Awards are scheduled for May 22 at 8pm ET. Nominations were announced today at a press conference in Las Vegas, Nevada. Rihanna tops the list with 18 nominations, including slots in the Top Artist and Top Streaming Artist categories.
Young Money dominates the Top Rap Album category; Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne and Drake will all battle it out for Top Rap Album, along with Kanye West and Eminem.
There are 46 categories, and winners are determined by how well artists and songs do on the charts, as well as online streaming and downloading numbers.
