Report: Jets' Geno Smith Suffers Broken Jaw in Locker Room Altercation
The New York Jets are off to a rough start and their 2015 season hasn't even kicked off yet.
Multiple media outlets, including NFL.com, reported Tuesday that Jets quarterback Geno Smith will miss six to 10 weeks of the upcoming season, stemming from a broken jaw that he suffered after getting "sucker-punched" in the locker room by teammate IK Enemkpali. The second-year linebacker was immediately released by the Jets after the incident.
Jets' first-year coach Todd Bowles made the shocking announcement Tuesday, saying it had "nothing to do with football" and it was something "very childish," without delving into details, according to the Associated Press. He also added that it's something that can't be tolerated.
However, already there are reports as to what might have led to the ugly incident.
Smith took to his Instagram Tuesday afternoon and posted the following Instagram picture, although it's not clear if the photo was taken before or after the incident.

Smith, who is represented by Jay Z's Roc Nation Sports, struggled in his second season with the Jets in 2014, throwing for 13 touchdowns and 13 interceptions.
Veteran quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick will start the season for the Jets.
