Hollande: Paris Terror Attacks an 'Act of War'

Nation in mourning, ISIS claimed responsibility.

At least 127 people have been killed and 100 more have serious injuries after a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in Paris, various news outlets are reporting. Six different sites, including a soccer stadium and a popular concert venue, were targeted with shootings and explosions.

French President Francois Hollande called it an "act of war prepared, organized, planned from the outside and with accomplices on the inside." He's declared three days of mourning and put France's security agencies at their highest level of alert.

Via an official statement, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) has claimed responsibility, calling the bloodshed a "blessed invasion" carried out by eight men who were "wearing suicide belts and machine guns."

French police have reported that eight terrorists have been killed –– seven by suicide bombs and one by police –– and as of Saturday morning are continuing the search for possible attackers or accomplices.

President Barack Obama condemned the Paris attacks, calling them an "outrageous attempt to terrorize innocent civilians" and pledging the United States government's assistance to France.

At this hour, there is no credible or specific threat in the U.S., according to a local government official. An FBI spokesperson said the agency and the Department of Homeland Security are closely monitoring the unfolding events. New York governor Andrew Cuomo tweeted earlier that he has ordered law enforcement officials to be extra vigilant.
Our prayers go out to everyone in Paris as they attempt to deal with the tragedy.
