Lil B Receives Death Threats Over "I'm Gay" Album Title
Lil B must have known that his controversial album title would drum up some attention, but he probably didn't think he'd receive death threats. MTV News reports that the rapper has received unsettling comments from anonymous sources unhappy with B's choice to title his next album I'm Gay.
"People been hitting me up like, 'I'm gonna bash your head in,' 'you f----t,' 'I'm gonna kill you,' " he said in an interview. "I'm not gonna stop and I'm not scared of anybody on earth. Nobody gonna stop me."
Though he has come under fire from fans as well, B says he will not be deterred. "A lot of my supporters have turned on me. It's been a few supporters that's saying, 'I'm not gonna rock with you anymore.' He added, "That's fine, because you know what? They didn't love me for real anyway."
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation expressed its support for Lil B so long as his decision isn't a "gimmick" and is a "sincere attempt to be an ally." For his part, Lil B says he is sincere about his effort to support the gay community.
The Based God announced the album title while performing at Coachella. A release date for I'm Gay has not been confirmed.
