The Wiz Live! Racks Up Critics' Choice Nominations
As awards season draws nearer, the nominations for various awards shows keep rolling in with the latest being those for the Critics' Choice Awards, and recent ratings smash The Wiz Live! hit the jackpot.
The live program garnered five nominations including Best Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series (Shanice Williams), Best Movie Made for Television or Limited Series, Best Supporting Actor in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series (David Alan Grier and Ne-Yo), and Best Supporting Actress in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series (Mary J. Blige).
Coming in with four nods are the Tracee-Ellis Ross and Anthony Anderson-led Black-ish, and also being recognized are Taraji P. Henson and Viola Davis in the category for Best Actress in a Drama Series for Empire and How to Get Away With Murder, respectively.
Idris Elba also scored a nomination in the category for Best Actor in a Movie Made for Television or Limited Series.
