Shirley Caesar's #UNameItChallenge 'Lawsuit' Just Took a Huge Turn

The new details are coming straight from the gospel singer's mouth.

Pastor Shirley Caesar has been making headlines since the days leading up to Thanksgiving thanks to the now viral #UNameItChallenge. Since then, it seemed as she was on board with the joke, until it was recently reported that she filed a $5 million lawsuit over the clip, which Atlanta-based producer Suede was profiting off of.

Now, the gospel singer has taken to social media to point out that the reports are all false and she's, in fact, not suing anyone.

In a Facebook post on Friday, she claims a lawsuit was never actually filed, but an injuction to halt all sales of the remixed track and an image that contradicts her brand has been put into action.

"When they refused to remove the commercial song from the Internet and the video, to protect Pastor's legacy and what Shirley Caesar stands for, we had to take legal action, secure a temporary injunction and order DJ Duede to remove the video, as well as cease and desist sales," the statement reads.

Long story short, pastor Caesar has no problem with the challenge itself, but isn't here for someone else making an unauthorized profit off of her talent and name. Seems fair.
