BET Awards 2022: Here Are the Nominees for the ‘Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational' Award
We’re just a few short days away from the BET Awards 2022, and we have a couple more nominees we want you to get to know better before culture’s biggest night, hosted by actress Taraji P. Henson.
We know no award ceremony is complete without a special gospel moment, so ahead of this year’s event, check out the nominees for the ‘Dr. Bobby Jones Best Gospel/Inspirational.” Legendary gospel artist Kirk Franklin earned a nom and currently holds the record for this category with five wins. Marvin Sapp — “All in Your Hands”

Kelly Price — “Grace”
The legendary singer-songwriter Kelly Price released Grace last year under her EP of the same name after signing with the record label Motown Gospel. The project features six tracks and was meant as a healing tool for the artist following the death of her grandfather early in the 2020 pandemic

Fred Hammond — “Hallelujah”
Fred Hammond has earned a reputation for creating music that uplifts and inspires its listeners. The iconic singer-songwriter’s 2021 hit single “Hallelujah” proves to be no different.
H.E.R. & Tauren Wells — “Hold Us Together (Hope Mix)”
Singer and songwriter H.E.R. teamed up with Christian pop-rock artist Tauren Wells for this uptempo and inspirational single titled “Hold Us Together.” The visual has already garnered over five million views on YouTube.
Elevation Worship & Maverick City Music — “Jireh”
“Jireh” is the lead single from Elevation Worship and Maverick City Music’s collaborative live album Old Church Basement. The track saw a wide range of success, peaking at number eight on the U.S. Hot Christian Songs chart and number one on the Hot Gospel Songs.

Lil Baby X Kirk Franklin — “We Win”
Gospel legend Kirk Franklin and one of hip hop hottest rappers, Lil Baby, teamed up for "We Win" off the soundtrack for Space Jam: A New Legacy. The Atlanta-based emcee spoke to RollingStone about the collaboration sharing that "Working with a legend like Kirk Franklin was cool." He added, "I’m proud this is a song that my grandma and kids can listen to, while at the same time I’m still being authentically me. I’m always looking to grow as an artist, and to be a part of the #1 Gospel song in the country…It’s a blessing.”"
