Kodak Black Will Not Be Released From Jail After All

Some outstanding warrants have resurfaced.

Yesterday (August 16) fans of Kodak Black expressed what is now being reported as simply premature excitement.

The 19-year-old rapper was expected to be released from jail yesterday after a hearing determined he would be sentenced to a year of house arrest and five years of probation. However, police have since dug up two active arrest warrants that are preventing his release.

As reported, the two warrants were discovered during the process of releasing Black from the Broward Main Jail in Fort Lauderdale.

“One of them is a no-bond hold,” the Public Information Officer at Broward, Joy Oglesby, said. “At this point he’s still going to be in jail. He’s not going to be released.”

Kodak Black had been facing several charges, including possession of a firearm by a delinquent, with the charges totaling a maximum sentence of 55 years.

While it is currently unclear why the warrants were discovered at this point in the process, unfortunately it means Black will remain behind bars at this time.

More on this story as it develops.
