Issa Rae Teases Her Role In ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ Sequel
Issa Rae’s spidey sense are tingling and now the award-winning actor will be joining the Spider-Verse.
While the news was seemingly confirmed back in June 2021, the actress and creator of Insecure is acting coy about her involvement in the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel at the 2022 Critics Choice Awards.
“I don't know if I'm allowed to say that, but I love Spider-Man and would love to be doing it if I were," Rae shared speaking with Entertainment Tonight.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rae will voice Jessica Drew/Spider-Woman.
“The way I have loved Spider-Man since the third grade. A dream come true,” the actress wrote in her Instagram story last year.
The cast for the sequel also includes Shameik Moore (Miles Morales/Spider-Man) and Hailee Steinfeld who voices Spider-Gwen.
Co-written by Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who also serve as producers, the sequel is slated to release on Oct. 7, 2022.
