Lonzo Ball Thanks And Appreciates Jay-Z For Ordering Three Pairs Of ZO2 Shoes
During a recent appearance on the Rap Radar podcast, Jay-Z revealed that he ordered three pairs of Lonzo Ball's sneakers, the ZO2s, because it's important to back Black-owned businesses like Big Baller Brand regardless if LaVar Ball might rub people the wrong way with his mouth.
Well, TMZ Sports caught up with Lonzo, and the Los Angeles Lakers' rookie point guard thanked Hov for the support.
"I'm just thankful, man," Ball told TMZ. "[I] appreciate it."
When asked if Jay-Z supporting the sneakers could possibly lead to a collaboration between Roc Nation Sports and BBB, Lonzo said, "I just play basketball, man. I don't handle that."
This comes after Jay explained why he ordered three pairs of ZO2 kicks.
"That man has a vision of his own. Why wouldn't I support him? Why wouldn't I support him? He feels like he could move culture and his son got a big enough name and a big enough brand that they can do it? Nike had to start somewhere? Why do we get so upset when we, us, as a culture want to start our own s***? That s*** is puzzling to me."
As part of his appearance on the podcast, Hov did mention that he has yet to receive the ZO2 kicks, though.
But Lonzo did tell TMZ that the sneakers are slated to ship in November, so it seems like BBB will have Jay-Z covered.
