T.I. Talks BET Hip Hop Awards Performance

Tip says it was a “pleasure” to join Young Jeezy on stage.

Taylor Swift fans may have been treated to an early performance by the recently freed T.I., but the entire world will soon see the rap star back on stage and in his element when the BET Hip Hop Awards premiere on October 11. During a conference call on Monday (October 3), T.I. talked about his performance at the show with journalists, bloggers and DJs.
"I feel like I'm blessed. I'm blessed to be able to still have a platform and have people who receive me with open arms in doing what I love to do," he said. "I definitely see the value and see the lesson in that, and it was my pleasure to be able to get on stage...alongside [Young Jeezy] in my city [of Atlanta]."
T.I. said that he was grateful that the timing of his release enabled him to have such a blockbuster homecoming.
"It's a story that I could not have even written myself. You can see that it was divine order...it was meant to happen that way."
Already since his release three weeks ago, Tip has appeared on two high-profile radio singles, his own "I'm Flexin'" featuring Big K.R.I.T., and Young Jeezy's latest, "F.A.M.E."
Since returning to the studio, T.I. said fans can expect him to do what he does best.
"I'm gonna come and do what I do," he said. "I don't even know how to put that into words. I feel like the example that I have put forth in my music and my past history, I think that's the best way to [describe that] than just me to say it in conversation. I bring my life [into my music], and there ain't nobody's life like mine...and that's why what you hear from me will always be different from anybody else."
