Beloved Rapper Coolio Cremated In Private Ceremony, Loved Ones To Get Ashes In Necklaces With Personal Inscriptions
Coolio, the Grammy-winning emcee who died on September 28, was cremated in a private ceremony. And although he’s no longer with his family, his ten children will always have a piece of him.
The Daily Mail reported that the 59-year-old rapper’s ashes will be distributed to his heirs inside exclusive necklaces. Each necklace will be inscribed with an individual message from Coolio. Once the momentos are filled, his remaining ashes will be kept in an urn.
His children– Artisha, Brandi, Jackie, and Artis from his ex-wife Josefa Salinas, Grtis, Milan, Darius, Zhaneand and twins Kate and Shayne will receive the treasured keepsake along with other close family members.
According to the publication, his partner of ten years, Mimi Ivey, expressed that Coolio had instructed his family not to have an elaborate funeral service but rather opt for cremation instead.
She also revealed her reaction upon learning her beloved beau had died.
“I just remember all of the air and life coming out of my body. I was outside, getting ready to take my son to football practice. All I remember was dropping to my knees. I collapsed.”
On September 28, the “Fantastic Voyage” rapper passed away in the bathroom while at a friend’s house in Los Angeles, BET.com reported.
