Trai Byers And Joan Smalls Embody Black Family Goals Circa 1960s Inside 'Vogue'
Empire’s Trai Byers is playing a family man for his latest role opposite supermodel Joan Smalls, well, it’s not a role per say, but it is a spread in Vogue, so we’d say that's still pretty major. The September 2017 issue features the two in a suburban '60s backdrop complete with an era-specific wardrobe to match. They’re basically giving us #BlackLove back-in-the-day vibes, and we’re totally here for it!
Rounding out their Black family goals are two mini models depicted as their sons for the photo shoot. While we would have been just as here for this if it would have been Trai’s wife and Empire co-star, Grace Byers, playing his leading lady, Joan slays in her beehive hairdo. Grace seems to agree, too. She commented under an Instagram post of the shoot her hubby shared, “When your man is SO DAMN FINE. 😍❤💋 I love love LOVE this picture!!!”
Just the fact that Vogue is showcasing such a beautiful Black “family” is enough to melt our hearts!
