Rich Paul Talks To ‘60 Minutes’ In Revealing Interview About His Incredible Journey To Success
When the name Rich Paul first became of interest, it was associated with his childhood friend, LeBron James. Paul was part of the intimate inner circle of confidants whom James trusted most (which also included Maverick Carter and Randy Mims) as he entered the NBA draft in 2003. Now, 20 years later, Paul is a formidable force all on his own as founder and CEO of Klutch Sports Group, making major moves in the NBA, except the majority of his power plays are done off the court.
In his first interview with correspondent Bill Whitaker on CBS News' “60 Minutes,” Paul explains how a Black kid who grew up around drugs and violence in Cleveland transformed into one of the most successful sports agents in the country. Paul, 42, defied the odds and broke the stereotypes imprinted on him since birth, becoming a trusted and influential voice in sports management.
The two discuss Paul’s upcoming memoir, “Lucky Me" (published by Penguin Random House on October 10), where he reveals details about how he overcame the weight of his mother’s drug addiction, his spiral into selling weed and cocaine and how the toxicity he experienced in the first half of his life has left him triggered still today.
