Music Machinery compiled the data from an “aggregation across a wide range of music services” through music intelligence company The Echo Nest.
Hov nabbed the top spot because he basically has the East Coast on lock and Southern states like Florida, Mississippi, Georgia and Alabama.
Drizzy’s music is most popular in the Southwestern areas, including Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas, while Mack and Lewis, who both hail from Washington state, dominate their home territory. The duo is also popular in Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, Montana and Maine.
Eminem came in with only three states, Alaska, North Dakota and West Virginia. Unfortunately, the Michigan-born MC doesn’t have a streaming hold on his home state (Jay Z does).
Map domination is good news for Hov, since he recently bought a Scandinavian music streaming company billed to rival Spotify and Dr. Dre’s Beats Music.
