South Carolina Rapper Speaker Knockerz Found Dead
South Carolina rapper Speaker Knockerz was found dead in his home last Thursday (March 6), reports Billboard.
The body of the 19-year-old, born Derek McAllister, was discovered in his garage, Richland County Coroner Gary Watts confirmed to local news outlet WISTV. No foul play has been suspected and an autopsy on the body returned no signs of trauma. Toxicology results are still pending.
The teen's death comes after he was last seen riding in a black Camaro and went missing for two days. A woman, Mesha Wilson, who identified herself as the young man's mother, wrote on Facebook early last week, "It's not like him not to communicate or come home for this long period of time. I pray that my son is ok."
After his remains were found, Wilson posted another Facebook message thanking well wishers for the "outpouring of love and kindness" shown to the family as they mourn the loss. "Oh my GOD is all I can say right now ….My baby…" she added.
Knockerz was unsigned but had a large following online, with songs surpassing a million views. One track in particular, "Rico Story Trilogy," snagged more than 3 million views.
