R&B Legend Christopher Williams Is Not In A Coma, Despite Social Media Reports
Yesterday (Nov. 10), "Nite and Day" singer Al B. Sure! posted on Instagram that the “I’m Dreamin’” artist Christopher Williams was in a coma. Fortunately, the report is false. Although Williams, 54, is struggling with undisclosed health issues, it was confirmed that he is not in a coma.
A statement on Christopher Williams’ official Facebook page read: “Contrary to reports on social media, Christopher Williams is NOT in a coma and is in stable condition and resting comfortably. Christopher sends his most heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of his fans for their prayers and well wishes.”
The Bronx native, who is the nephew of Ella Fitzgerald, is known for the hit songs "Talk to Myself" (1989), "Every Little Thing U Do" (1993) and 1991’s "I'm Dreamin’,” which was from the New Jack City soundtrack and peaked at no. 1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart.
Williams briefly dated Oscar winner Halle Berry in the early 1990s.
Christopher Williams’ last music release was the 2001 album Real Men Do. However, he was briefly seen in a 2014 episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta where he got into a confrontation with RHOA star Kandi Burruss.
Back in 2016, BET honored Christopher Williams’ iconic career on an episode of Lift Every Voice.
