Big K.R.I.T. Explains Album Delay

Live From The Underground has been rescheduled for early 2012 release.

Big K.R.I.T. surprised fans last week when he announced that his highly anticipated debut album Live From The Underground would be delayed from a late September release date to early 2012. But in a new interview with XXLmag.com, the Mississippi emcee says he has a good reason.
“I really just wanna take out more time and work on the music, and they let me do that,” K.R.I.T. said.
Unlike the free mixtapes that he's released previously, K.R.I.T.'s proper label debut presented one challenge in particular that required some adjustment.
“With some of the samples that I chose to use, tracking down the person that owns the publishing has become a task. It’s just something I’m not quite used to dealing with.”
The new album is still largely under wraps, but the "Country S**t" rapper said fans can expect at least two head-turning features on the project.
“There’s two features that came up that I had the opportunity to work with,” he said. “I ain’t gonna mention who they are — they super, duper legends, put it like that."
The BET 2011 Hip Hop Awards nominee said he plans to release the album's first single in the near future, with a possible short EP down the road. Fans can expect the new music to reflect all the progress he's made up to this point.
“My music’s gonna evolve as I get older,” he says. “I think this album is a great representation of that. It’s going to be well worth [the wait]. Trust me.”
