Maryland Teacher Removed Over Problematic Tweets About Her Male Students
A Maryland teacher has sparked outrage among parents and a school district after her incendiary tweets were discovered.
Bianca Robinson, a substitute teacher in Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS), was suspended from teaching at District Heights Elementary School, according to FOX 5. A problematic tweet was posted from @mostly–hated to the social media site on Thursday.
"Black women raising boys, please stop letting ur sons pick up ur female traits!!! I have the b**chest boys in my class!! I know y’all have some men around somewhere! This sh*t is getting ridiculous,” Robinson wrote.
Carlita Ballard told FOX 5 that she didn’t think Robinson should be able to be around children with thoughts like that.
"I wouldn’t let her teach my kids, not with that type of behavior.”
Joel Waits, a former teacher’s aide, agreed with the woman.
"Honestly, with a lot of the way teachers are, they do teach like – they just don’t say it."
"She could’ve said like put ’em in male mentoring programs, things like that. But for her to come off and say something like that, it’s just atrocious," Gabrielle Hill said.
The disgraced substitute teacher, who made her Twitter account private, was dragged online as well.
“@Mostly_hated should never teach or be around children ever. So many abhorrent tweets on that TL (before she went private). What a loser,” one person wrote.
Prince George’s County Council Education Committee Chair Jolene Ivey told the news outlet that Robinson’s behavior was “harmful.”
"As a black mother of five black sons, this is a very important issue to me. And I think that we all need to be up in arms if there are people out there interacting with our children, especially on a regular basis, who have those kids of attitudes. It’s harmful.”
A PGCPS spokesperson told FOX 5 that human resources is investigating Robinson.
