'Real World' Drama: David Edwards Quits The Show After Feuding With Tami Roman

Feels like 1993 all over again.

David Edwards is leaving Real World before the rest of his roommates.

The controversial reality star shocked audiences by leaving the show during the season finale of Real World Homecoming: Los Angeles. His early exit echoed his appearance on the show’s original run back in 1993 when he was evicted from the house following a physical altercation with Tami Roman.

The reassessment of the 1993 incident seemed to be on the cast’s mind going into the big reunion. Edwards and Roman were able to come to somewhat of a new understanding on what happened in earlier episodes of Real World Homecoming: Los Angeles, however, Edwards’ heavy drinking, smoking and stance on Black Lives Matter rubbed his costars the wrong way.

Roman felt that Edwards’ lack of interest about the movement as a Black man and continued jabs about her wigs were disturbing and called up her husband Reggie Youngblood to vent. In turn, Youngblood showed up to the house to confront Edwards for disrespecting his wife, but for safety reasons, production removed Edwards from the house and wouldn’t allow him to come back until Youngblood agreed to leave.

Edwards finally returned to the house. He also felt other roommates didn’t have his back in the situation – accusing everyone of attempting to put him “in a negative light.”
