Eriq La Salle Joins HBO Series

The actor scored a recurring role on HBO's "How To Make It In America"

HBO has tapped Eriq La Salle to appear on the upcoming second season of How To Make It In America. The comedy–drama series follows a group of young people trying to stay afloat in New York City while attempting to make it big on the fashion scene.

According to Deadline.com, La Salle will have a recurring role as Everton Thompson, an educated Jamaican community activist who throws a wrench in the growth of Rene's (Luis Guzman) company, which happens to be an energy drink named Rasta-Monsta (Rene isn’t a Rasta, nor is he Black, so there's no limits to the tension that could arise with La Salle’s character).

Eriq La Salle has been a hunky TV favorite for years. The season thespian was trained at Juilliard and has appeared on Broadway, but also One Life to Live, 24,  ER and more.  He is also loved for playing the "King of Soul Glo," Darryl Jenks, in Eddie Murphy's Coming to America.
