Young Jeezy Changes His Name
At 35, Jay Wayne "Young Jeezy" Jenkins is very much a grown man, so the timing is perfect for a name change. The Snowman has decided to drop the "Young" from his moniker, effective immediately.
He explained the decision on MTV's RapFix Live yesterday, after host Sway Calloway introduced him incorrectly. "It's Jeezy now," the CTE founder proclaimed. "I'm grown now. I did enough of that."
Years in the music game opened up a more mature side of the Atlanta rapper, apparently. "It sounds good because when I came into the game, that's what I was and that was my state of mind. But I'm a grown man now," he added.
Jeezy isn't the only rapper switching up their moniker. Jay Z parted ways with the hyphen in his name three years ago, but the media just recently caught on.
