Shaq Strikes Deal With Turner Sports
Life, post-retirement, is looking busy for Shaquille O’Neal, who's coming to Turner networks.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Time Warner’s Turner Sports has sealed a deal with the four-time NBA champion to serve as an analyst “across its portfolio of NBA programming.” He will act as full-time analyst for TNT's studio show starting in the 2011/2012 season.
Specifically for Turner Sports, O’Neal, who recently retired after 19 seasons, will also become part of the network’s NBA All-Star weekend and NBA playoffs coverage. He will contribute to NBA TV and NBA.com.
Moreover, the agreement will include a development deal with Turner’s entertainment and animation networks given O'Neal's previous work in TV and film.
On working with Turner, the former NBA star said: “I can't wait to begin my new career.… Over the past several years the team at Turner has taken the NBA and entertainment, in general, to a whole new level. I'm grateful for the opportunity to join the amazing team.”
