Baby Keem’s ‘Orange Soda’ Lyrics Lead To Numerous Twitter Accounts Suspended

#TwitterJail on a Tuesday.

Fans of Baby Keem are buzzing on Twitter over a new revelation pertaining to the Las Vegas-bred rapper's lyrics. The 19-year-old has been bubbling under the rap radar for a while and has made a name for himself as one of the funniest rappers in the game right now.

In the summer of 2019, Keem released his biggest hit to date, “Orange Soda,” which comes from his debut project DIE FOR MY B*TCH. As with any hot track, fans are likely going to post the lyrics as captions. However,  some of his fans have complained that after sharing the content, their accounts were suspended from Twitter.

Baby Keem caught wind of the violation of  his fans’ rights to freedom of expression and called upon TPTB to let them enjoy themselves.

“So like... if you quote Baby Keem lyrics they put you in twitter jail? Free my dawgs,” he issued on Friday (Mar. 6).

Complex did a deep dive into the matter and learned from fans that some accounts were being temporarily suspended between 12 to 24  hours. Although, one suspended fan named Colin noted that the social platform’s algorithm doesn’t appear to “use any type of context or any sort of ‘plagiarism check’ to see if they’re lyrics, quotes, etc.”

In the meantime, fans have been directly relaying their experiences on the social platform to Baby Keem.

“Smh it’s sad out here,” one individual notified him, sharing a screenshot showing that their account was placed on time-out in January after they posted “When you come see the crib, you better die, hoe.”

“It happened to me @PowersPleasant tweeted a lyric and I replied with the next line and I got suspended for 12 hours lol it was wack,” a second user weighed in.

“We hate to see it...they won’t let us live,” a third co-signed

“Put me in Twitter jail and throw the key away then,” a fourth person opted.

However, there are a few daredevils willing to test fate. Some fans responded to the unofficial ban by simply spamming the timeline with Baby Keem lyrics. See how fan’s are reacting to being banned on Twitter over Baby Keem’s lyrics below:
