Drake made a surprise appearance with Bun B at Rodeo Houston, which is one of the biggest annual events in the state of Texas, reports HipHopDX.
Held at the NRG Stadium in Houston on Tuesday (March 12), the UGK co-founder pulled up to the center of the venue with a fleet of SUVs, and to a crowd of more than 75,000 attendees in what was dubbed the “All-American Takeover.”
Bun B thanked the crowd for making the evening a successful one before introducing “Champagne Papi.”
“And to thank you for all that you’ve done for me and my family, I present to you, The Boy,” Bun said to the crowd as the “6 God” hopped out of one of the vehicles. “This is our newest resident, please make some noise for Drizzy Drake.”
Dressed in a burnt orange jacket with tinsel-tassel and a Bun B “Trill” album t-shirt, the crowd erupted as Drake took the stage. He went on to perform a set that included "N 2 Deep,” “Hot Line Bling,” “Nonstop,” “SICKO MODE,” and “Rich Baby Daddy.”
Drake closed his energetic set with“November 18th” which details the life-changing connection he made with Lil Wayne in Houston. That moment catapulted Drake to being one of the most successful artists of all time.
“The first time I did this song in Houston, Texas was at Warehouse Live,” Drake told the raucous crowd.
During his set, Drake also paid tribute to the legendary DJ Screw whose innovative production brought the Houston sound to a worldwide audience.
In addition to Drizzy, the series of events featured performances from Lil Jon, Rick Ross, Nelly, Ying-Yang Twins, E-40, Too $hort, and DMC of Run-DMC.
