Lil Duval’s ‘Black Men Don’t Cheat’ Song Has The Internet Crying Real Tears

“Black men stand up!!!”

The Twitterverse woke up confused on Wednesday morning (June 12) when they spotted #BlackMenDontCheat was trending out of the blue, and it has comedian-slash-occasional-rapper Lil Duval to thank for the bewilderment.

  • The Florida-native surprised his fans by dropping another unannounced track, "Black Men Don't Cheat." The song opens with a chorus of men shouting the central message of the song loud and clear.

“Today we celebrate all the men that try to be faithful,” Lil Duval wrote in his announcement with the anthem.

  • Kicking off with a piano interlude, the anthem could almost pass for a Southern hymnal and the Fresh Prince of Bel Air intro hybrid.

For the song's guest feature spot, Duval is joined by The Breakfast Club co-host Charlamagne Tha God. The two encourage Black men everywhere to have the willpower to not cheat and stay faithful to their ladies over the two-minute track.

I love my old lady / That’s my baby / Think I’m leaving her for you? / B**ch, you crazy / The hoes will attack / No matter where you are / I got two words for you / Faithful and Black,” Lil Duval raps in the first few verses.

While we’re not clear if it’s all a joke, one thing’s certain: you can’t knock the message of the song. The internet-founded Faithful Black Men Association also co-signed the song.

  • There were some mixed reactions to the song, but there was mostly praise for the song’s uplifting and positive message.
