Mashonda has moved on. When news of Swizz Beats engagement to Alicia Keys first broke, his then-wife penned an open letter to the R&B superstar denouncing their relationship.  But in a recent letter, Mashonda has decided to “clear the air,” just in time to coincide with her reality television show Love and Hip Hop.

In the letter, Mashonda claims to have recovered from the heartache, accepting Alicia into her life, and more importantly, her son’s. Back in August, a pregnant Alicia Keys wed Swizz Beats in a secret wedding on an island off the coast of Italy. Mashonda writes, “It took some time, but I now realize that even my former husband and his new wife, are my partners in this wonderful journey. When I look into Kaseem’s eyes, I see the joy in his heart by having such a wonderful, blended family that loves him so much.”

Mashonda has a lead role in the new reality series Love and Hip Hop, which premiered on VH1 this past Monday (March 14). She is featured along with the girlfriends of other hip hop artists.
