Wait, Was Nicki Minaj Not Aware That Cardi B Would Be Featured On Migos's 'MotorSport'?
Another day, another Joe Budden conspiracy theory. This time around the Slaughterhouse frontman is convinced that Nicki Minaj and Cardi B's recent collaboration can all be pinpointed back to the ingenious Kanye West.
On Monday morning's (Oct. 30) episode of Everyday Struggle, the rapper shared his thoughts on the unexpected bass-heavy single in which the femcees silenced longstanding rumors of their subtle "beef." While fellow Bardi Gang and Barbz members celebrated their lyrical handshake on wax, Joe suggests that the leading ladies were initially unaware of the joint effort. "I think that Kanye suggested to Migos to put Nicki on this song," Joe begins his lengthy rant. "I do not think that Migos or anybody stepped to Nicki and said, 'We have a record featuring Migos and Cardi and we would like you to get on it.' I don't think that happened.
"I don't think there was a Cardi verse anywhere in this equation," Joe continues when asked if he believes Nicki knew the Bronx femcee would be featured on the track. "When I heard the song for the first time and the Cardi verse came on, you know what my thought process was? I said, 'Wow. Different flow.' This flow is different from what I've ever, ever, ever heard from Cardi."
Joe goes on to point out that Cardi's vocals are sonically different from the rest of the track, further solidifying his argument that the song wasn't initially produced with the "Bodak Yellow" rapper in mind. The host continues to frame Nicki's verse as a subtle diss toward Cardi, even likening it to the infamous "4,3,2,1" star-studded posse cut featuring LL Cool J, Method Man & Redman, Canibus and DMX.
Ahead of Monday's episode, Joe shared his thoughts on "Motosport" via Twitter, shortly after its release sent the Internet into a frenzy. Check out his tweets, below.
