NFL Shoots Down Rumors About Beyoncé's Diva Behavior
The NFL is defending Beyoncé after a British tabloid reported that the singer made outlandish demands in the rider for her much-anticipated Super Bowl performance this Sunday.
Yesterday, the Daily Star reported that Bey had insisted that the NFL provide a "lavish" backstage nursery for her 1-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy, including rose-scented candles and an exact temperature of 78.8 degrees Fahrenheit.
“She’s by far one of the most difficult celebrities we’ve ever dealt with. The list [of demands] is as long as my arm," a source told the Star. "She may be a superstar, but this day is about football, not her.”
But Brian McCarthy, the NFL's vice president of communications, shot down the report, telling TMZ the rumors are "pure pulp fiction."
"Beyoncé and her team have been great to work with throughout this process," McCarthy said. "We have enjoyed her creativity, vision and spirit in putting on a great show that is truly a Super Bowl performance."
Beyoncé has yet to comment on the allegations.
