Cardi B Savagely Claps Back At People Calling Her Marriage To Offset A Publicity Stunt
Fans’ hearts shattered late last Tuesday night (Dec. 4) when Bronx phenom Cardi B took to Instagram to announce that she and her husband of one year, Offset ended their relationship. Early in Bardi’s career, during her Gangsta B*tch days, rumors swirled about their then-budding romance after they collabed on her single, “Lick.” The hip-hop lovebirds ‘confirmed’ their relationship last Valentine’s Day when Cardi dubbed Offset as her “bae.” Fast forward to September of 2017, Mr. and Mrs. Cephus secretly wed and a month later, he publicly proposed. Early in 2018, rumor mill spun wild yet again when the Invasion of Privacy rapper was reportedly pregnant and back in July, the couple welcomed their daughter, Kulture Kiari, into the world.
In spite of countless allegations of infidelity and even some evidence that’d surfaced, Bardi stuck by her husband on some true “Belly sh*t.” Yet, when she announced a divorce was on its way, most fans were genuinely stunned while others felt it was a publicity stunt. With the visual for her latest single, “Money” and Offset’s solo album set to drop in the very-near future, many couldn’t help but to wonder if this was all for show.
In classic Cardi fashion, the “Be Careful” femcee took to Instagram Live to set the record straight
“We fell in love with each other. Things was not always gravy cause at the end of the day, we are two different people” she began. “But we never did anything for f**king publicity, b*tch. You think I got f**king pregnant, could’ve ruined my career for f**king publicity, you dumbasses.”
On the other hand, many think their entire relationship was rushed and thus, on a downward spiral from the beginning. “A lot people saying I moved too fast. Maybe I did. Maybe I didn’t. I don’t know, but sh*t happens. People fall in love. People get married. People have kids….”
“I don’t regret anything… Even though we not together, I learned a lot,” Cardi continued
And in case, some still doubted her decision, the femcee performed at this year’s Jingle Ball and boldly remixed her verse on Migos’ “Motorsport.” “I get Offset off. I turn Offset on. I told him the other day, yeah we’re gonna get a divorce.”
While the “Bodak Yellow” legend was reminding all that this divorce move isn’t a game, her estranged hubby was busy missing his wife.
