Lil Kim Co-Signs Lola Brooke While Bringing Her Out During Apollo Performance
Things have been going extremely well for Lola Brooke over the past six months, and perhaps her most important co-sign yet just took place.
Taking to Twitter, the Bed-Stuy native took to her Twitter account to announce that fellow-Brooklynite and hip-hop legend Lil Kim brought her out during her performance at Harlem’s Apollo theater for a rendition of her hit song “Don’t Play With It”.
“Lil Kim brought me out at the Apollo! This my first time ever at the Apollo. I never in life been here! I can’t believe this s**t, mannn! Can’t wait to go home and f*****g cry. I need some space to myself ‘cuz wtf yo!” she tweeted, adding, “I love you & thank you so much Kim . you just took weight off my back knowing that you got mine ! ❤️@LilKim.”
Kim wasn’t the only hip-hop legend who gave Brooke props. Replying to her tweet about Kim, Missy Elliott replied with flame and raised hands emojis.
Lil Kim’s performance at the Apollo was to celebrate the Harlem Festival of Culture. Prior to the show, the venue tweeted: “#ApolloFam, it’s our anniversary! We couldn’t have made it to 89 years without you! Join us in celebrating nearly [nine] decades of amplifying Black creativity, imagining new futures and ensuring artistic expression always has a home on 125th Street.”
In addition to Brooke, Kim also brought out fellow Brooklyn natives King Combs, Remy Ma, and Fivio Foreign, among others.
