The Weeknd Surpasses Michael Jackson’s Tour Record And Tribute’s Him In The Process
The Weeknd has reportedly surpassed Michael Jackson’s revenue record for the highest-grossing tour ever put on by a Black artist.
Hot New Hip-Hop reports that the Canadian singer’s After Hours Til Dawn tour, which has been going since last summer, has eclipsed the numbers that Jackson’s Bad tour did in 1987, grossing $350 million to MJ’s $311 million, after adjusting for inflation. The Gary, Indiana native had held the crown for 36 years.
On Tuesday (July 12), The Weeknd paid homage to Jackson via a tour video showing him perform “D.D.” from his Echoes of Silence mixtape, which is inspired by “Dirty Diana.”

“My king. Then, now and forever. Rest easy,” he captioned an IG post afterward, which showed him singing the cut at a stop in Belgium.
Overall, The Weeknd’s tour has sold over two million tickets for all of its international dates. In North America, he’s collected over $148 million.
