LeBron Is Denouncing People Burning Isaiah Thomas's Celtics Jersey With These Strong Tweets

"The burning of the jersey thing is getting ridiculous now! The man was traded."

Scorned sports fans have been known to burn jerseys of athletes who leave their team as free agents, as notoriously witnessed last year when Kevin Durant left the Oklahoma City Thunder and joined the Golden State Warriors.

But in the aftermath of the Cleveland Cavaliers' blockbuster trade, which sent Kyrie Irving to the Boston Celtics in exchange for three players, including Isaiah Thomas, and a draft pick, LeBron James believes that fans burning IT's Celtics' jersey are flat out wrong -- and he blasted them for it with a series of strong tweets.

"The burning of the jersey thing is getting ridiculous now!" he began tweeting. "The man was traded. What do you not understand?"

And he was just warming up.

Take a look at all of King James's tweets and how fans reacted to him.

  • LeBron Had Time Today

Salute to you, King James, for once again speaking out about something that needs a voice.

  • People Agreed With LeBron, Adding That Any Celtics Fan Who Burns Thomas's jersey should be hit with a flagrant foul

#Facts. Stop with the burning of the jerseys ... especially in this case.

  • Unfortunately LeBron Was Speaking From Experience, Considering Cavs Fans Burned His Jersey Back In 2010 When He Left the Land For The Miami Heat

Yes, his jersey was up in flames years ago.

  • Some Celtics Fans Want to separate themselves from the clowns who burned the jersey

In other words, the bad few don't speak for all Celtics' fans.

  • Remember, when the trade went down earlier this week, King James applauded someone who thanked Kyrie instead of burning his Cavs jersey, so LeBron geuinely feels strongly about this

Just another reason that LeBron continues to be one of the most honorable, woke athletes in sports. Salute, King!
