Watch: Gabby Douglas and Simone Biles Will Bring Their #BlackGirlMagic to Rio
It was a lock for Simone Biles to make the U.S. gymnastics team for the Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
It was anything but for Gabrielle Douglas, who struggled to a seventh place finish during this past weekend's Olympic gymnastics trials, in which she even fell off the balance beam during her routine. Ouch.
However, when it was all settled, both Biles and Douglas had reason to celebrate, as both made the cut for the Olympic squad.
Biles knew she'd be part of the five-woman team, headed to Rio, but Gabby wasn't so sure, needing to stick the vault to make the cut.
Look how Simone and Gabby both did their thing when it counted most during trials.
After Gabby dried her teary eyes, the celebration in the locker room was turnt to the highest power.
Biles and Douglas will be joined on the gymnastics team by Aly Raisman, Madison Kocian and Laurie Hernandez.
Take a look at the squad.
