Suge Knight Pleads Not Guilty to Camera Robbery
With bail set at $500,000, Suge Knight remains in custody Thursday morning (Nov. 6) after facing charges for an alleged snatch-and-run.
Knight and comedian Katt Williams are accused of stealing a celebrity photographer's camera outside of a Beverly Hills film and TV studio in September.
So the story goes, the two chased down the photographer, "forcibly" grabbed her and then took her lights-flashing equipment. Both were handed one count of robbery. Knight pleaded not guilty. Williams was scheduled to appear, but did not, according to The Los Angeles Times.
In court, Judge Keith Schwartz was sympathetic, reports TMZ. He said that he's handled many cases where paparazzi acted "unprofessional" but was unable to cut Knight a break in this case because the district attorney filed charges. He had yet to see the video footage of the incident, he told Knight, who only days before suffered a fainting spell while in prison.
"Obviously this case has some wrinkles in it," Schwartz said.
Knight and Williams are expected back in court Dec. 24.
