Update: Migos’ Offset Hopes He Doesn’t Get Shmurda’d in Court

Rapper released after reaching plea deal in jail riot.

UPDATE:  Offset was released today following an eight-month jail stint. According to TMZ, the Migos rapper reached an agreement to plead guilty to inciting a jail riot, which is a felony.

He was sentenced to five years probation with credit for time served. The battery charge against him was dismissed. ________________________________________________________________________________________________

PREVIOUS: Migos’ Offset has been imprisoned for most of 2015 and he wants out. Now.

The Atlanta native plans to present new evidence that he did not start a jailhouse riot and claims what prosecutors hold against him is shaky.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, he asserts the footage of the supposed riot doesn’t show a clear picture of him and even if he was the one to start it, the event only lasted 20 seconds, which he claims isn’t grounds for calling it a “riot.” He will present his case during a bail hearing on Friday (December 5). It will be the rapper’s fourth attempt at getting free since being locked up in April. He’s also slated to claim there’s not even evidence to move forward with a trial.

Offset has been held without bond since his arrest on drugs and weapons charges but has been unable to obtain freedom until trial due to alleged involvement in the incident behind bars.

Bobby Shmurda is also being held for incidents happening behind prison walls. Yesterday (December 3), the New York rapper was denied bond by a judge and will remain in jail until at least his next court appearance in January. Shmurda is being held for conspiracy to commit murder, among other weapons charges.
