Angel Reese Surpasses Candace Parker with WNBA Record 10th Straight Double-double

The Chicago Sky rookie makes history after only 17 games into her NBA career.

Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese broke a WNBA single-season record with her 10th straight double-double, finishing with 10 points and 16 rebounds during her team’s 70-62 loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday (June 30). Candace Parker of the Los Angeles Sparks set the previous record back in 2015.

"She's gonna continue to do what she does, that's who she is, she's always gonna come out and play hard and confident and give you everything that she has," Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon said of the rookie in a statement, according to ESPN. "She's the hardest person on herself, so proud of what she's doing and what she'll continue to do."

That same evening, Reese won the Sportswoman of the Year Award at the 2024 BET Awards. "Thank you BET for Sportswomen of the Year!" she tweeted.

Sky selected Reese with the seventh overall pick in the draft, which was a spot that Lynx traded down from.
