Adult Swim’s anticipated new animated series Black Dynamite has unveiled its first preview. The series is based on the 2009 feature film starring Michael Jai White. Though the show’s pilot will air next month on August 8, the full first season won’t launch until spring 2012.

Producer Carl Jones said the project “further chronicles the exploits of the central character, ex-CIA agent and full-time ladies' man Black Dynamite and his crew as they avenge the death of Black Dynamite’s brother against kung-fu masters, drug-dealing pimps and The Man and his crew.” The original cast, including Michael Jai White, Tommy Davidson, Kym Whitley and Byron Minns, who all starred in the 2009 film, return to voice their characters.
