What appears to be a leak discovered in a Reddit thread gone viral, today (March 3) footage has surfaced in a 14-minute clip that vaguely follows Kendrick Lamar, leading up to the release of his critically acclaimed album good kid, m.A.A.d city.

K. Dot recruited Kahlil Joseph to create a documentary-style visual component to pair with the album, but the project still holds some cryptic details.

The film was shown at the L.A. Museum of Contemporary Art last year, and today was made fully available to fans online for the first time, appearing on a couple of YouTube accounts not directly related to Lamar or Joseph.

While the intention of the film and the level of Lamar’s involvement personally is still unclear, the video clip is an interesting one, featuring archival footage of a young Kendrick, and shows what we can assume is how the rapper experiences Compton with its random scenes, as sound-tracked by the album itself.

It’s a lengthy music video at best, sprinkled with some quotes throughout, but holds an interesting and artistic quality that has fans asking all sorts of questions about it. Lamar and his creative team, once again, has us hook, line and sinker.
