Grammy Award-winning R&B and gospel singer Al Green, also know as the Reverend Al Green, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on Jan. 12, 1995. Motown's own Martha Reeves and the Vandellas were also honored with the same award on that day.
Al Green has sold more than 20 million records in his career. He is widely known for his classics “Tired of Being Alone,” “I’m Still in Love With You” and “Let’s Stay Together,” famously sung by President Obama at a campaign fundraiser event in 2012. In 2009, he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards.
