Beyoncé Documentary to Air on HBO

The pop superstar to premiere bio-doc in February.

Beyoncé's feature-length documentary, which the pop star directed and executive produced herself, has found a home at HBO. The premium cable network will air the still-untitled film on February 13, 2013.
“Everybody knows Beyoncé’s music, but few know Beyoncé the person,” said Michael Lombardo, HBO's president of programming in a statement. “Along with electrifying footage of Beyoncé onstage, this unique special looks beyond the glamour to reveal a vibrant, vulnerable, unforgettable woman.”
The film, which follows theatrical documentaries from stars like Justin Bieber and Katy Perry, was first reported on in August. It will combine home-video-style snapshots of Bey's day-to-day personal life, some shot by Bey herself, with professional concert footage.
A press release about the film states that it "captures the intense physical and emotional demands [Beyoncé] goes through in the studio, preparing for live performances, running a business and her family life including her return to the spotlight after the birth of her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, in January 2012."
Set to premiere February 13, the documentary will air just 10 days after Bey's other big show that month: Super Bowl XLVII.
